Microblading
Microblading is a form of tattooing. The main difference between it and a typical tattoo is that pigment not ink is used.
-
Microblading is a form of permanent cosmetics or cosmetic tattooing. A single use, disposable, sterile needle grouping is used to make tiny little scratches on the skin in the pattern of natural eyebrow hair into the dermis layer of the skin. Pigment is applied and the area is then left to heal. The finished result is a fuller, more defined natural looking eyebrow. Sometimes a stippling technique or a tattoo machine with a needle grouping is used to fill in the brow area for a more natural look. This is what we call shading or a powder effect. Permanent eyeliner and lip color is applied using a tattoo machine.

Yes! microblading is a form of tattooing. The main difference between it and a typical tattoo is that pigment not ink is used. Pigment is less concentrated and typically does not last as long as ink and a much smaller amount is generally used. You may see microblading advertised as semi-permanent. I am a member of The Society for Permanent Cosmetic Professionals. Their stance is to disagree with this marketing technique as it can be misleading. It is impossible to guarantee 100% fade away for all people in any given time period therefore the term “semi-permanent” is forbidden for any members of this professional society. Anyone who would enjoy having their eyebrows enhanced. Whether its from over plucking, natural aging, or a health condition many women and men wish they had more attractive eyebrows. Sparse and shapeless brows can be transformed to make you eyes stand out for a more youthful, well rested look. It will help you save time in your morning makeup routine by giving you a beautiful template. Some clients will always wish to continue adding a little makeup here and there to their brows but now they have a template to quickly and easily follow. No more 20 minute draw-on sessions every time you leave the house! Permanent eyeliner and eyebrows are wonderful for clients who may be allergic to traditional makeup, have failing vision or who have trouble with arthritis.

A typical appointment lasts about 2 hours. You will fill out some quick paperwork and we will discuss your desired look. Please bring pictures if you have a particular look in mind. My style is to keep it natural and to enhance what you already naturally have so while I can not give you someone else brows I can make yours the very best version of you! I will take a before picture, apply numbing cream then let you relax for about 30 minutes. After that I will draw on a shape using various measuring tools and my artistic eye. We will then choose a color together and then start the procedure. It takes about 30 mins and I numb during the procedure as well. After we are done I will take your after picture, go over aftercare instructions and then you are on your way! I will see you back for your 2nd session in about 6-8 weeks.

Not really. I cannot guarantee a completely discomfort free experience but all my clients tell me, “It’s really not bad at all.” I use a variety of topical numbing creams before and during the procedure. You may feel a little discomfort at the very beginning but I quickly apply more numbing cream, at this point most all clients go completely numb on the brow area. Eyeliner is naturally a bit more sensitive. You may take Tylenol before your eyeliner appointment if you are concerned about the discomfort and Advil right after if your physician gives you the ok to do so.

The healing process takes about 10 days. During this time your brows will go from dark to light then back again. You may experience some flakey, patchy looking brows as the tattoo is healing. You will need to do your best to keep the area clean, dry and away from direct sunlight during the 10 days. You will be given an ointment to apply on the area. Two sessions are required for brows and occasionally a 3rd is needed depending on your desired look, skin type and starting point. 2 sessions are standard. Please plan accordingly if you have a special event coming up.

The short answer is….it depends. Many factors affect how long permanent cosmetics last and it is impossible to guarantee a time frame. Industry standard is about 1-3 years for microbladed brows. Fully saturated brow styles and eyeliner will likely last several years or more. Touchups are required to maintain the design and color.
-
If you are pregnant or nursing. No exceptions.
If you have previously tattooed brows please call me to set up a consultation first.
If you have a blood borne illness including but not limited to Hepatitis or HIV.
If you are an excessive bleeder, or bruise very easily you will be difficult to work on and may not get the best results.
If you are using eyelash growth serums please stop using 1 month before getting permanent eyeliner.
If you are prone to Keloid scarring.
if you are currently receiving chemo.

* I have found that the clients with the best results are ones with healthy, nourished and well exfoliated skin. Skin quality is a huge, if not the main factor that will determine your end results. It is HIGHLY recommended that you receive a Hydrafacial or CIRCADIA treatment that includes advanced exfoliation 2-4 weeks before your microblading appointment.
24 hours before- No blood thinning medication or aspirin/ Advil. No heavy alcohol or caffeine use, moderate use (1 cup of coffee) is fine.
No Botox or similar within 2 weeks before your appointment.
Skin treatments such as chemical peels, lasers must all be fully healed. No Retin-A or strong Retinol products for at least 2 weeks and no Acutane for at least 1 year.
Please bring your photo ID. The state health department requires I keep record. I must have this to service you.
No children or pets at your appointment please
Please check with your physician if you have any health related questions or whether you should receive permanent makeup.
Please keep in mind that a great deal of permanent cosmetics and microblading is an art and everyone has a different style and tricks of the trade. You should choose an artists whose style you have seen and you love! If you have any additional questions please contact me at 501.222.8668 during typical business hours and I would be happy to go over everything to help you make an informed decision. I would be honored to have the chance to work with you! - Lauren
Eyeliner
Permanent eyeliner is a tattoo on the eyelids that looks like makeup.
-
Permanent eyeliner is a tattoo on the eyelids that looks like makeup. It is applied by using a tattoo machine and permanent cosmetic pigments. Pigment is implanted into the skin and when healed you have a beautiful, permanent eyeliner that does not smudge or wash off. It is a wonderful time saver and perfect for clients who are tired of dealing with eyeliner that smears and runs or who are having trouble applying makeup themselves.
-
Permanent eyeliner can last for many years. Touchups may be required after several years to darken and refresh the color. If you choose a very minimal, subtle design it may last a shorter amount of time.
